Design & Aesthetics
Jeanne Koepp says that every material has its own appeal. Glass offers her not only translucency but also an intense spectrum of colours. Its luminosity and colour inspired her to explore this initially unfamiliar material and investigate its aesthetic and inherent possibilities for her own creative work.
Clear, contemporary forms combined with outstanding craftsmanship: blown in wooden moulds and made in places with long-standing traditions, such as Murano in Italy and Zwiesel in Germany, the works bring beauty and poetry to everyday life. In Koepp’s hands, skilled craftsmanship and artistic ambition come together to create objects with a sensual presence.
All series take classical forms as their starting point, reinterpreted through straight-ground rims and engraved elements.

Creating objects from glass was a natural progression from my many years of work as a ceramic artist. I wanted to give this material, which mainly serves a protective role as glaze in ceramics, the leading role.
I have been designing vases and objects since 2018. To bring my designs to life, I travel to the island of Murano several times a year and work with a local glassblower. Since then, THEA, FEDERICA, MATTEA, DONDOLA and FABIONA have been created there.

Since 2023, I have also been working with Zwiesel Fortessa AG in Bavaria. This collaboration has extended my artistic practice to a German production location with a long-standing tradition. This is where the TINE crystal vase is made.
